Organization Facts
Kappa Delta Sorority was founded at the State Female Normal School (now Longwood University) in Farmville, Virginia, on October 23, 1897. Kappa Delta's original ideals of friendship, fellowship, and sisterly love have remained constant and strong for more than 110 years, and the KD sisterhood has today grown into an association with over 200,000 initiated sisters nationwide.
Kappa Delta is proud to have four philanthropy projects - the most of any Panhellenic sorority. These causes include Girls Scouts of the USA, Prevent Child Abuse America, the Children's Hospital in Richmond, VA, and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.
Nickname: "Kay Dee"
Symbols: Nautilus shell, katydid, dagger, and teddy bear
Colors: Olive green and pearl white
Jewels: Diamond, emerald, and pearl.
Flower: White rose

The Eta Zeta Chapter of Kappa Delta at the University of North Florida was colonized on December 6, 2003. Since its start, sisters have worked hard to foster the development of their time-honored values set before them, by inculcating into their members' hearts and lives those principles of truth, of honor, and of duty. Constantly working towards their national vision of providing opportunities and experiences that inspire women to greatness, members of Kappa Delta currently serve as the Student Government Senate President Pro Tempore, Overall Dance Marathon Chair, Coggin College of Business Student Leadership Advisory Board members, Student Government Senators, Presidential Envoys and members of over 60 UNF clubs.
